Q. Reduced GST Prices

1)What is Reduced GST Price?

Reduced GST Price is Reduced MRP for the products between 1000-2500 as mentioned in the below table.

2) How can we find Reduced GST Price in Online/Offline stores?
Online store: There will be banner live on our website page. For Items impacted by reduced GST, look for the text "Reduced GST Price" on product page. Offline store: Please refer the banner/POP installed in the stores where items in the below MRP rate.
 

3) What is the change because of reduced GST?
GST rates have been reduced on apparel mainly. The apparel items upto INR 2500 will have a reduced GST rate of 5% and above INR 2,500 will be 18%. Earlier the rates were 5% for apparel items upto INR 1,000 and 12% on items above INR 1,000.

4) What is the effective date of the change in GST?
New GST rate is effective from 22nd September, 2025.

5) Which all products are not impacted by the change in the reduced GST rate?

Accessories eg belt, bag, leather products, goggles etc are not impacted by the above change because there is no change in the GST rate of these items. However, Uniqlo India have decided to reduce the price for accessories as well between 1000-2500 MRP.

6) What will be the change from invoice and credit note perspective?
Invoices and credit note will reflect the updated GST rate for the impacted products from 22nd September, 2025.
 

7) On which products the above MRP change is not applicable?
The above change will not be applicable for the Markdown products, Limited offer products and products not falling under above 1000-2500 price range.

8) Why is the benefit not being passed on for Markdown and Limited Offer products?
GST benefit has already been considered in Markdown and LO products wherever applicable and hence additional price change is not considered.

9) Is there a price increase because of the GST slab change as well?
No, there is no upward revision in the prices because of increase in GST rate from 12% to 18%.

10) Why does the MRP price tag doesn’t match the invoice generated?
For the items where revised MRP is applicable because of GST, the physical price tags have not been changed and will not match the invoice generated.

11)  In case of returns for products bought before 22nd Sep, what will be the applicable GST rate?
For the items which were bought before 22nd Sep and returned from 22nd Sep, credit note will capture the old GST rate matching with the original invoice.

12)  In case of return for products bought from 22nd Sep, what will the applicable GST rate?
For the items which are bought from 22nd Sep and returned on or after 22nd Sep, will capture the new GST rate matching with the original invoice.

13) Why do some product prices not match to above price line but display “Reduced GST Price”?
After applying Reduced GST Price, we sometimes run additional discount. This case will not match reduced GST price line (1190, 1390, 1790, 2290).
